We keep as little about you as we can, we don’t sell it, and you can delete it yourself.
What we store
- Your email address, and your name if you give one (or Google passes it on when you sign in with Google).
- How you sign in: a password stored only as a secure hash by our sign-in service, or the link to your Google account. We never see your Google password.
- Your account details: your plan (free during testing), whether your access is active or on the waitlist, and when you last visited.
- Your settings, such as your My News categories and voice or sound choices, so they follow you between devices.
If you ask to join without an invite, we keep your email on the waitlist so we can let you in later. We don’t store what you search for or which headlines you open.
Cookies and your browser
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. Your browser also remembers small preferences such as the colour theme. There are no advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party analytics.
Who helps us run it
- Supabase hosts our database and sign-in service (United States).
- Cloudflare serves the site and protects it from abuse.
- Google, only if you choose Continue with Google.
They process data on our behalf to run westi.ai and for no other purpose.
How long we keep it
Until you delete your account. When you do, your profile and settings are removed straight away; copies in our backups disappear within 14 days as old backups expire.
Your choices
- See and change your name and settings on your Account page.
- Delete your account, and everything above with it, from the same page.
- Ask us anything about your data by replying to your invitation, or from your Account page.
